Zirconium Crown

What is Zirconium Crown?

Zirconium is a white metal obtained from natural sources. In zirconium crowns, zirconium dioxide is commonly used as the material forming the structure beneath the porcelain. Zirconium is resistant to high pressure and tension, and it is compatible with tissues, thus it does not cause any allergies.

How is the Process of Zirconium Crown Application?

For zirconium crowns to yield healthy and aesthetic results, the importance of gum health cannot be overstated. After treating and healing the gums, an aesthetic examination should be conducted. If the patient’s gum line is high and correction is required, the gum sizes are adjusted. Once the gum treatment and shaping processes are completed, the process of arranging the teeth and taking measurements begins. Special measurement materials are used to take the measurements, which are then sent to the laboratory. In the laboratory, a digital design is made, and the zirconium infrastructure is produced. A trial fitting of the zirconium infrastructure is performed in the mouth, followed by a trial fitting of the porcelain superstructure. After necessary final adjustments are made, the polished and smooth crowns are placed on the teeth.

Can Zirconium Crowns Be Applied on Implant Teeth?

Zirconium crowns can be used in single tooth crowns and bridges, as well as in implant-supported prostheses.

How Should Zirconium Teeth Be Maintained?

The maintenance of zirconium teeth should be done regularly, just like with natural teeth. Therefore, you should brush your teeth and gums twice a day and maintain oral hygiene with special dental floss for zirconium bridges or crowns. Additionally, visiting your dentist for a check-up every 6 months will ensure the smooth use of your zirconium teeth.

Does Zirconium Teeth Production Cause Pain?

Since the cutting procedures of teeth occur under local anesthesia, there is no sensation of pain.

Is There Any Aesthetic Problem After Adjustment?

Temporary teeth are prepared on the same day after adjustments are made. This prevents both changes in appearance and sensitivity problems that may occur in the teeth.

How Long Does it Take to Make Zirconium Teeth?

In the presence of healthy gums, the process of making zirconium teeth takes place between 2-7 days.
